DECLARATION OF A CASH DIVIDEND

MINDEN, LA. – January 15, 2014-Minden Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company” or “Minden Bancorp”) (OTC BB: MDNB) announced today that its Board of Directors at their meeting on January 14, 2014, declared a cash dividend of $0.095 per share on the common stock of the Company, payable on February 3, 2014 to the shareholders of record at the close of business on January 24, 2014.

The Company is the parent holding company of MBL Bank headquartered in Minden, Louisiana. At September 30, 2013 the Company had assets of $273.9 million, total liabilities of $232.5 million, and total stockholders’ equity of $41.4 million.
