As of December 31, 2009, Merlin BioMed Private Equity Advisors, LLC (“Merlin”) and Dominique Sémon ceased to be the beneficial owners of shares of Common Stock of Avalon Pharmaceuticals Inc. (“Common Stock”) and no longer represent beneficial ownership of the outstanding shares of Common Stock. Dominique Sémon is the Managing Member of Merlin.

ATTACHMENT B

Dominique Sémon is the Managing Member of Merlin. As of December 31, 2009, Merlin and Dominique Sémon ceased to share voting power and dispositive power of shares of Common Stock.

AGREEMENT OF JOINT FILING
