EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Amendment to Form 8-K is filed by Global Med Technologies, Inc. (the “Company”) to amend the contents of the Current Report on Form 8-K originally filed by the Company with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 10, 2010 (the “Original Form 8-K”). The Original Form 8-K was filed under the incorrect item number. The contents of the Company’s press release filed as an exhibit to the Original Form 8-K have not changed.

Item 2.02 Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

On March 9, 2010, the Company issued a press release reporting its results for the fourth fiscal quarter and fiscal year ended December 31, 2009. The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
