KCP&L is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Great Plains Energy and represents a significant portion of its assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses and operations. On May 9, 2013, Great Plains Energy issued a press release announcing its results for the quarter ended March 31, 2013. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
