Gastar Exploration, Inc. Announces Results of Special Meeting of Stockholders

HOUSTON, January 22, 2014 - Gastar Exploration, Inc. (NYSE MKT: GST) (“Gastar”) announced today that its stockholders voted to approve the merger of Gastar with and into its subsidiary, Gastar Exploration USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Gastar USA”), as part of a reorganization to eliminate Gastar’s holding company corporate structure. Gastar and Gastar USA anticipate that the merger will be completed on or before January 31, 2014.
