  Posting of documents in connection with the recommended cash acquisition of
        Hanson by Lehigh UK Limited, a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of
                    HeidelbergCement AG (the "Acquisition")





Hanson announces that the first available date for the court hearing required in
connection with the Acquisition is 21 June, 2007. Therefore, and with the
consent of the Takeover Panel, Hanson is expecting to post the scheme document
to its shareholders on, or around, 25 June, 2007.
