Item 8.01 Other Events.

On January 23, 2014, HomeTrust Bancshares, Inc. (“HomeTrust”) and Jefferson Bancshares, Inc. (“Jefferson”) issued a joint press release announcing the execution of an Agreement and Plan of Merger, dated as of January 22, 2014, providing for the merger of Jefferson with and into HomeTrust. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
