Item 8.01 Other Events

The Board of Directors of Hi-Shear Technology Corporation today approved a cash dividend of $0.75 per share payable on or about August 21, 2009, to shareholders of record as of the close of business August 14, 2009. The ex-dividend date is August 12, 2009. This dividend is not special and does not represent that the Company will pay dividends on a scheduled basis.
