On May 31, 2006, Merrill Lynch Mortgage Investors, Inc. issued its Specialty Underwriting and Residential Finance Trust Mortgage Loan Asset-Backed Certificates, Series 2006-AB2, such series representing interests in a pool of fixed and adjustable rate conventional one- to four-family mortgage loans secured by first liens. Capitalized terms used herein and not otherwise defined shall have the meanings assigned to them in the prospectus, dated March 31, 2006, as supplemented by the prospectus supplement, dated May 26, 2006 (collectively, the "Prospectus"). The Certificates consist of the following classes: Class A-1, Class A-2A, Class A-2B, Class A-2C, Class A-2D, Class M-1, Class M-2, Class M-3, Class M-4, Class M-5, Class M-6, Class B-1, Class B-2, Class B-3, Class C, Class P and Class R. The Certificates represent beneficial ownership interests in the Trust Fund. The Trust Fund consists of the Mortgage Pool and certain other property described in the Prospectus. ITEM 9.01.
