CORPORATE EXPRESS: No discussions with Staples regarding a take-over

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 5 February 2008 - Corporate Express NV has noted rumours in a Dutch morning paper regarding ongoing discussions between Corporate Express and Staples about a take-over and the subsequent market reaction.

Although the company as a matter of policy never comments on rumours, in this situation Corporate Express wishes to make clear such discussions are not taking place.
