Kabel Deutschland pushes DOCSIS 3.0 Internet offerings

Unterfoehring, July 19, 2010 – Kabel Deutschland Holding AG, Germany’s largest cable operator, today introduced new promotional pricing for its DOCSIS 3.0 Internet products.

For the first twelve months, the 100 Mbit/s flat Internet & Phone bundle sells for a promotional price of €28.90 per month, €21 lower than the list price of €49.90. The 60 Mbit/s flat Internet & Phone bundle is offered now for promotional price of €25.90 per month, €14 lower than the list price of €39.90. After the initial twelve month promotion period prices will step up to the retail price of €39.90 and €49.90, respectively.

Currently, DOCSIS 3.0 is available in Hamburg, Hanover and Munich. Further 14 cities were announced to be rolled out by March 2011. By then, approximately 45% of cable households in KD’s footprint will benefit from broadband Internet offerings with download speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. By summer 2012, the superfast Internet products shall be available in the entire cable network that had already been upgraded for Internet and telephony services.
