The deferred units were credited to the reporting person's deferred units account, which account is maintained by the Issuer, on June 28, 2007, which was Mr. Hoak's last day of service as a director of Pier 1 Imports, Inc. The deferred units were priced at the closing price on June 28, 2007. Pursuant to the Pier 1 Imports, Inc. 2006 Stock Incentive Plan as amended, deferred stock units are settled within thirty (30) days after the person ceases being a member of the Board of Directors of Pier 1 Imports, Inc. Each deferred stock unit is the economic equivalent of one (1) share of the Issuer's common stock.
