Item 8.01 Other Events.

On June 14, 2007, Greater Community Bancorp (the "Company") announced that it has mitigated and extinguished the state tax liability related to the one-time charge of $4.2 million, net of federal tax benefit, that was recognized by the Company in the fourth quarter of 2006. The Company anticipates that it will recognize a partial recovery of the tax liability and related interest on taxes totaling approximately $1.8 million, net of federal tax, in the second quarter of 2007. A copy of the press release, discussing the partial recovery of the tax liability, is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
